Why is imvu so slow
All I see is nothing is really getting fixed at all but only like 1 steps at a time to be getting fixed. Every update just makes it worse! Also remember not every user is having these issues for some reason. Still experiencing slow loading. It's almost been 2 months since this has going on. Nope, as of this morning, it started all over again, bad. Until now, it had not done so since update before last.
Should have something by tomorrow. The prerelease cut didn't work for most of you so one of our engineers is setting up a private survey to get traceroute information from those of you impacted. I hope any of the future updates will help, because lately this past month I've been struggling. It'll crash unexpectedly, I log back in to see I have nothing in the closet, and have no friends. Its really irritating. Our engineer needs impacted users to run a traceroute because we believe this might help resolve their connection issues..
This information is private so we created a survey form that will go to IMVU only. Just fill out the survey form properly and it will be sent to our engineer. It seems every minutes IMVU is crashing. Think you guys need to rethink your updates, seems each one is worse and worse.
Still crashing every minutes. In the past I never had these issues, now it seems every update it just gets worse. The entire client and servers need reworking. It's almost and there's no real reason to keep this old stuff around. I still keep crashing continously without any reason for it Still crashing and not working right. It's been a month. If it works all of you will see a recovery. If so please let me know in this thread. Their fixing will take a few days if it works so let's give it until Wednesday of next week or earlier.
Chatroom visitor count is now frozen, won't go up. Another bug I've discovered. Also my crashing has gone to second counts in between. I have a friend who can't load past the home screen. He's had this issue for about days and tried uninstalling and reinstalling, checked firewall settings and even cleared cache before even trying to install and reinstall. I have no issues whatsoever. We are hoping he can log in today, but if not we are holding high hopes it can be fixed by Wednesday.
Before these issues occurred he was able to log in just fine with no crashes or loading complications. When the issue first occurred it said he was missing the IMVU updater application. The next time after uninstalling, restarting his computer and reinstalling he found it would try to load the home screen on the client but would freeze in the process of loading before the avatar even loaded.
After closing the program through the Task manager, it would freeze as a white box where the small IMVU loading box would be before the client becomes a window. I advised him of this thread and we are doing our best to be patient. To everyone reading this, please be advised that the staff at IMVU are not intentionally disrupting your experience and it doesn't matter how much an engineer is paid sometimes fixing things takes times.
VixenStarli if you delete and reinstall the game, your problem can be fixed. I have tried that times for the last month along with everything else. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. This is happening to me. I have restarted my laptop, and re-installed the IMVU app multiple times. What can I do to fix this? Im not able to perform the traceroute, because im on my laptop.
I have tried every route that I have been told to fix this issue with the wife connections, re-installing, and restarting my pc. Please tell me IMVU is going to have an up date to fix this issue … this has been on going for far too long now … be in chat room then get the get kicked even though you a mod you still get kicked and its just getting rather annoying and when you click on people it just keeps going spinning in circles like is loading something … and truly a person can only take soo much of this … especially if you are a mod of a highly popular room and then when you crash and try to come back it says room is full … this glitch or what ever it is realy agrivating and I been waiting on something to fix it for I don't even know how long now ….
I am trying to be patient but truly … I miss the old days of 07 when NEVER crashed and you could be in chat room for day and not crash or nothing … what has happen to all this … Please fix this issue asap :.
I was kicked off again for idk how many times today.. I have even updated to the newest up date that even says fixed crash codes … I thought that would help but sad to say it only does a lil … I love IMVU I been on it since 07 … but I wish you all could go back in time to the days of IMVU when it never did crash unless people come in the room with a Massive amount of Kb's : I truly do hope IMVU fixes this sooner rather than later … people who are new to the program may not say on this for constant crashing and taking for EVER to load room info and avater info and trying to send a message takes for ever as well : Please do fix this asap :.
Please remember to do the survey for running a traceroute. Our engineers are looking over the information that you send us. My friends list isn't loading and i see my friends in their room so i enter but their avatars never load for me. I performed speed tests from my own IPS's site, and also from the site I was requested to use by a member of the staff.
Both are very comparable, and are downloading at a rate of Mbs. However, in my opinion, those results only absolve the IPS sites from being responsible for the slow download speeds. I have also done the trace route exercise and provided all this information to that same staff member, requesting that data be passed along to the engineer. However, let me say this I have tried most of the All that I tried are downloading slow, even those versions that were not particularly slow when they were the latest.
Tracing the route.. But that only shows the route the data takes between IMVU and your computer, which will vary depending on which part of the Country, or which Country you're in. So the only way that could be useful would be to do a speed test on each link of that route because it's layered like an onion, bouncing data from layer to layer to reach your computer.
And for that to be accurate, it should be conducted while actually moving IMVU data, not just using some slurry of bits provided by the particular ISP. Changing tracks here I've been curious and doing a little testing on my own.
I've been observing, and most all of it while running the client itself, on 2 different PCs, 2 different operating systems Windows 8. What is slow is anything that involves downloading IMVU data Based on my observations, I'm gonna make a wild guess here IMVU simply can't get the data out fast enough. There is a definite bottle neck, whether it be hardware or software. Quit looking at us for your answers, quit looking for other entities to blame.
IMVU solely owns this issue. Look back to the time it began and assess the changes you made at that time.
Make proper assessments of what could cause these severe slow downs, look under that hood again, you may have to drop in a new engine, not just add more windshield washer fluid. I seem to get an awful lot of periods of being 'Not Connected', those that show in a chat room, and others that are not so obvious. As we switch from function to function, have any of ya looked at your Advanced Settings?
Often we are not connected for a short period during those function changes. We get not connected briefly uploading pics from create to albums, we get not connected messages while we are downloading pics from albums to our computers. NO telling how often we a really not connected.
You ever notice the lag as mobile users on your friends list log on and off a dozen times in 5 minutes? Bet we get 'not connected' then too, it just doesn't admit it when it does it Again, just my opinion, but I think the slow down began pretty much around the same time as the new platform for creating on a Mac was implemented. Okay, my rant is over You all have fun! Im dealing with that issue now. I received the same error message times in a row when I logged in. It sucks I submitted my room for small business Saturday and and cant even stay in the room because imvu crashes,.
While I'm no longer crashing as frequently since the newest update, I'm now having issues putting on items in the shop. When putting them on, they do not show up unless I take it off and put it back on a few times. And loading times have significantly increased. Loading into a room takes a good 5 minutes for me sometimes. They will not admit that their servers are old and not equipped to handle all the data being passed around.
I cant be online for more than an hour. I know it isn't my internet connection because my wife is able to get on her imvu on the exact same internet connection and it works perfectly fine. I've ran every diagnostic possible on my laptop to eliminate any issues on my end. This is getting out of hand. I can't even create anything! I tried to submit a product today and it took 10 minutes for an error message to pop up telling me "product could not be submitted" with no other information than that.
Nothing is loading for me. I can't see anything in the shop. I can't see any of the chat room images and I can't see any of my items on dress up. Everything else is running perfectly but this problem pls fix this. This is beyond ridiculous now.
I can't do anything once I load onto imvu. If i place something in a room or change an outfit I crash. This has been weeks for me not days. I get so stressed being on IMVU now. It is sad. You add things that we dont need like followers and stuff why do we need that?
Fix this problem and then worry about other things. What was once a chat client for adults is now catered to teens. And quite honestly, it sucks.
It's unreal how you ignore your users. I am actually subscribed to this post so every comment comes to my inbox with the full message. I feel this needs to be escalated higher up which is what I am working on but I need to gather evidence. Should be ready to present it by the end of the work week. Feel free to poke me here or private message me.
I have already private messaged several of you and a couple of you have gone on Zoom chat with our engineers to walk through their steps and particular issues. I'd like to get the products impacted by some of the users on here. Feel free to post them in a comment and please mention me.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can private message them to me. We want to see if there is one corrupted product potentially impacting you all. Probably not but getting clear on this one. After that it's likely back to the third party I mentioned who believes they fixed the problem. Please list the products you are wearing when this happens.
If it happens in the same room you might want to list that as well. If someone does not wish to wait they can reply here or message me, too. The Problem has not been fixed i try to submit and i get booted saying its my internet pffft then i get booted off the game so when will this be fixed its getting to much now we cant work so when will it be fixed anyone got any answers to that.
It can't be any one item, Shannon, as I stated to you in a private message before checking in here. While trying to create, I use a variety of avis, apparel, accessories, etc. There really is nothing I use that is a constant that would indicate a corrupted product file. The delays however are relatively consistent. And, in the evenings when chatting, once loaded in a room, I do fine So, this has to be process related rather than product related.
My new laptop is blazingly fast, and speed tests have shown it's not my internet speed, so it's not an issue with user hardware. I've been using computers for about 37 years now, and the waits on IMVU are at times reminding me of the old Apple IIc with k of memory computing days.
Please provide ShannonMac with data that he requests, either here of in a private message to him. Obviously there are issues of major impact here. Let's try to consider the overall picture and provide him with useful information that will help to resolve the problem. I realize that everyone is frustrated, as I am. Observe, take notes, even do a little testing on your own, look for consistencies and inconsistencies, and pass it on. Let's all try to be a part of the solution, not add to the problem.
No offense is meant toward anyone, but let's work together. I just started having these very same issues last night, and it has continued into today. I can't submit any products, because I keep getting booted out of the client. I was finally able to apply my textures and save a product but, when I tried to upload it, I was told that I didn't have enough credits, and that I would need to buy some.
I have more than enough credits to submit products ten times over. It keeps telling me that I've made too many attempts. It's extremely frustrating, and I think it has to do with the servers, because I too have a screaming fast computer. I've never had problems like this before. If you don't wish to assist I will take you off of the request list. I log onto the client fast.
Everything runs smooth with no lag. But as soon as I change an outfit or add something to a room like furniture that I am trying to add for a xmas room , I crash. Sometimes when I crash I can't get back on. And sometimes when I log back in I have no friends list or go into a room a friend is in and they aren't there when I enter. And I clear my cache multiple times a day as well as run CCleaner.
Also when I go in the shop it loads fine and I can scroll through pages fine. But I can't try things on. The bar comes down but it never loads. Shannon, I thought I was assisting with the answer I gave. I use both male and female avis in create, hair for each, eyes for each, clothes for each, skins for each, and accessories for each.
I also do furniture and rooms with default avis in the room though not pictured. It's different items for nearly everything I submit. I'm saying there is no product that I use that has been constant over the past 6 weeks or so that this has happened. This assertion should be more helpful than bogging the engineers down with trying to find one common product. There isn't one, which was my point. I thought they did. I very rarely ever have a problem anymore Once in a while, Shop mode requires me to reload, but that's about all.
It has gotten ridiculous for me. I know it isn't a product at this point when my IMVU client is working the browser doesn't load saying I have no internet and when I crash and gives me Error 0 the browser works. I can't even create without crashing, load shop without knowing "there is no avi I am going to crash", "slow load.. I am going to crash". I am starting to limit myself to logging in at all because this isn't fixed, if you guys hired someone new who helped "code" please check that work because when no one can log in or do anything I doubt it is 1 product that is doing it.
Even wearing avatars that are default doesn't help anymore. It's not so much crashing when entering chats anymore, except maybe once.
However, when this one time does happen and I re-log in it tells me that I have zero friends and none of my outfits I was working on will save.
This happens every time, regardless the products being used. I can still enter chatrooms but I can only talk to people, nothing loads period. I log out and back in at least 6 times before I give up and leave it for the night. When I crash like a normal crash happens, where the coding box pops up with 'notify imvu' on the bottom none of this happens.
I reboot like normal and continue on. Well , I guess this problem is still an issue getting a problem has occurred with your IMVU session and it completely kicks you off … I realy do hope is an up date in the mere future to fix this because truly this issue is started to be come an issue that has been on going for far too long now … Please begging even … fix this … I know is not my net I got a windows 10 computer fairly new … but I just don't know any more always crashing a problem has occurred with your IMVU session please re log if you wish to continue : PLEASE IMVU fix this issue.
I have last night at around 11pm or so i crashed 6 times in a row each time id log in and go to the shop id crash or id park in a room with my friend id crash. The client has been working well for me since Friday, hopefully this continues. I submitted my tracerroute results a couple weeks ago. Wanna know the best part? Here we go ready? Just an update here I'm still having lots of issues with anything related to downloads on IMVU. The engineers are wasting their time looking for a corrupt product to blame, frankly.
I find it inconceivable that any corrupt product would cause inordinate delays in logging on to the chat client and opening inboxes or any other tabs from our menus. Some are complaining about not even being able to log on Here's more reasons it's NOT something we're wearing, but rather server communication related. Retrieving any product to derive from in create takes at least times longer than it did Going into create puts you automatically into either the female or male default avi, and even remaining in that avi, uploading or downloading pics is incredibly slow, submitting a product is slow.
Outside of create and trying to do peer reviews Third party server? Maybe so, but would that impact nearly every function of IMVU? Heck, simply hugging a friend can take 30 seconds or more after clicking on the action.
This is going on two months now. I have experienced the same issues on several PCs, 2 operating systems, and I have performed speed tests from various sites, including the site recommended by IMVU.
I've tried a number of downloadable I don't have speed issues accessing anything else on the internet. And since so many users are experiencing issues, you simply have to look at our common source of the issues. Again, IMVU Staff and Engineers, look at the time frame, and look at changes that were made to the client software or hardware when all this began. It's time for solutions, and if those are not foreseeable very soon, it's time for accountability.
Since Mid October I've been getting the error msg a problem happened I figured oh well maybe there is an update on the horizon having been on imvu since 08 i "thought I knew all the signs. Now here we are in December and I'm still getting that msg and being drop from chat and this after I contacted an agent and was told to update to the latest client which I did.
Now it's even worse. I get the msg, I drop from chat and to make matters worse I can invite someone into chat and they are in a totally different room than i'm in once they load. It'll be my room but not the room I'm in at the time. The only way I'm able to fix this is to totally log off imvu and log back in. This is becoming very frustrating.
Can you Please look into this. And don't tell me to clear cache, as I said I've been here since 08, I'm a creator on 2 accts so I know the first thing to do before contacting imvu staff is to clear my cache. This is something i do every 2 days just for shyts and giggles. I'm beginning to wonder if this is the beginning of the phase out of the client as they are putting so much into Next and not really anything with the client.
When I joined imvu 11 years ago there was no Next and although there were issues from time to time nothing like the mess that is going on now I'm on Windows 10 and last night I received updates.
It did not speed up my interfaces with IMVU servers, but I have noticed some quicker responses today for anything solely Windows related. So, please make sure you install your operating system updates, as every little bit helps. The more issues we can reduce or eliminate on the user's end, the more confident we can be in proper assessment of who's got us running in 'granny' gear.
Updating my latest update here. I see no change so far. Shannon, when you elevated these issues, I hope you elevated them to someone with some real clout. I have no idea how the 'engineers' are trying to analyze this, but I hope it's not on a phone or PC linked directly to the servers.
A better idea would be accessing the client though the net, and getting out into the community a little to experience IMVU as the users do. IMVU wouldn't benefit from removing the client. If anything they'd receive backlash for it because all my friends I regularly hang out with use the client and many random people I know prefer the client, also the creators can't do much on the mobile version and I don't see how that can promote IMVU creators to create more.
As an update on my friend having issues with her client, she's no longer having the issues like before. We've discovered most of her issues are now user error.
Of course, IMVU can't be perfect for everyone, it's now evident that most of her issues are due to her computer. It was the servers, but shortly after whatever they were doing for the next Wednesday she was able to get on again, but would crash if she so much as changed her outfit. She just had to do that on the mobile app and she'd have no problems with that crash. Now she doesn't even have that issue any longer, but she still loads incredibly slow. I only have the issue that I need to relog into the client after my computer is in sleep because it will clog my ability to join rooms for whatever reason.
Easy fix and works again as normal after the relog. Not sure what everyone else is experiencing, but when it comes to the issues this topic was for my friends and I have no IMVU-dependent issues. I've only referenced one friend's issues so far in either reply, but I do ask many of my friends the same if I notice they crash a lot.
Remember that the crash might be because your computer needs you to restart the program regularly, too. A phone can stay on for months on end, but your computer needs a break even if it's some fancy gaming computer.
Also take into consideration that my basic computer can multitask very well, while other computers aren't designed with my level of multitasking in mind. If you have issues loading IMVU make sure to try running it without anything except system processes in the background to see if that helps. IMVU has pulled through every time so far so we can only hope that our continued support will keep them motivated to keep doing their best. Isn't it odd how it's affecting us all so differently?
Some folks are having no issues at all. But, I can assure you all of this.. I've been here since and have been pretty active. Many times you click on a Creator's Name to see their catalog and it load nothing when they have a ton of products.
Poor catalog, poor sales. I didn't think it possible, but after diligently working so hard to find and correct the problem, IMVU has managed to slow down the client even more. In the age of lightning fast technology, the client is chipping away at granite with a smaller and softer piece of soapstone.
How long will that require to complete their masterpiece? Ya damned straight! In chat, I wait seconds to hug a friend.
I wait 30 seconds for my inbox to load. I wait seconds for fits to load. I wait 30 or more seconds to open my account page. I wait 30 seconds to switch from 'all' to most 'recent' in any inventory function. I wait 30 seconds to load an album at each stage. And we've been waiting for this problem to be fixed for months.
I have no issues with speed for anything else on the net. Time to drop everything else and make this the highest priority until it's corrected. Having all of the same issues as indicated above, in spades. I use the Client and Classic over the phone app or Next. What de fudge is going on?
I'm wondering if I should downgrade Can't anymore. Normally, I have had NO issues with upgrades, maybe 1 or 2 on occasion recently. These problems have been ongoing for over a week and a half now and it's becoming rather annoying to say the least. Creating takes twice as long because of all these errors IMVU client continues to hit. This has been going on for a month with me, Shop wont load, outfits wont load, i keep disconnecting and getting removed from rooms then the client just down right crashes and gives me connection errors all day everyday, its unusable.
Its just the desktop client that has become useless and riddled with connection errors. They keep putting all the attention on the mobile app, meanwhile the desktop client is ancient and gathering dust!
It need a proper and total reworking Get on with it! Hi, I have a problem with imvu, I have my account since and I have always used it. I have sent the complaint to imvu x the regular media and the problem has not been resolved.
I can not buy anything in the store because I get error I do not want to lose my account, please who could help me? Thank you. Merry Christmas, Everyone!
Obviously we're getting coal rather than a problem solution. Well, the hols always bring that gap. Understandable, but still. If the Client and Next were able to merge smoothly, it could be a Christmas miracle I can no longer log in with my ilsolitario account the owner of ilsolitario took it from me I check my app or my purchases with my name card they give me an answer. Its becoming aggravating for it to work for like a week then now be right back to how it was … an error has occurred in you with your IMVU session please log in again to continue.
Mine keeps switching from the room to loading then freezes. I have tried 2 computers one of them brand new and still is happening. From the looks of staffs interest though I don't look for this to be fixed anytime soon. In a 30 minute period I have froze then crashed and received that same error, i have clicked notify imvu now numerous times.. My Account ist deactivated and i have no idea why..
Iniciativa del juego con el error IMVU de que se ha producido un. DM me with the answer please. Please fix it, the game is very good.
I have had the same issues since October of last year. I have reviewed and tried everything mentioned in this thread. I receive the exact screenshot disconnect messages noted in this thread.
Maybe every minutes after joining a room and then shortly after from the PC client. I had never experienced this problem before. I am hoping we can get an update on the status. Still having this issue. They're stuck on loading. Well, knock on wood, mine seems to have gotten much better. I have done nothing, it just seems to have gotten better on it's own.
If anything changes, I will update. I have done my daily things like CCleaner, clearing imvu cache manually every day not through the advanced settings, registry cleaning, always do this stuff and still do. Keeping Windows up to date as well.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I am being booted from rooms when i am on the create tab, booted in general repeatedly from imvu no crash reports, told on webpages that i have had too many requests, got double submissions on uploading, slow loading that is crazy to a point it disconnects me. This has been an issue for me now for weeks, i have visited live chat a few times to be told to re install the latest version, which i can only do so many times, and told to clear my cache which i have done repeatedly via imvu and mannually.
I find lately that any rooms with old particle products are a royal pain in the arse load. Never used to have issues. When you add in new users who are loaded down with head signs and anything that will make them look as goofy, er, trendy as possible, well I did the same yesterday I updated to the newest one also..
I am starting to wonder if this bug issue is EVER going to get fixed.. Its been on going for a couple months now … getting quite aggravating. I Mean I have done every single thing IMVU has noted that may fix the issue including every single update posted that may fix : Please fix this as soon as possible. Then clean out your cachet? If folks haven't already I'd suggest checking your antivirus especially if its Avast. I had this problem last year and Avast was marking imvu as a virus and was causing these issues.
Okay, so it's been fine for a few weeks. Now it's back at it again Like i said before my internet seems to be working fine, even the IMVU mobile app works perfect. It's just the desktop client that this keeps happening with. Chatrooms wont load, and if they do load, i get kicked out in a few moments, then the client shows the dreaded red disconnected sign at the bottom right, then the whole thing just crashes! It's quite annoying tbh, can't do anything without experiencing some sort of error, either the room one or just crashing out of the blue.
My internet connection is fine, so I know that's not the problem in this case. Been having an issue with my outfits and items in inventory not loading. Like, they are there, but they won't show, it's just an invisible block or space where something should be.
And no matter how long I wait they won't load. If you noticed, the Download section its showing that there are two ways to download. Use the Mobile Version or the "Classic" Version The only way anyone would say Classic in any business, it means they are going to phase it out. So how do you phase out a software that a company is trying to force you to move to a better platform? The same way Android does when they want you to buy a new phone.
They force you to install the problem by updating it. Yeah, I could be wrong about this, but its something that we all should be prepared to do. Move on to the next thing. We all could cut our losses. But its something to strongly consider if this problem is done diliberately to force PC users to transition to Mobile. Soon as I posted on here about your "evil plan".
I now have the issue. The Only issue i seem to cop at the moment is after creating two or three products i get a error message saying i'm clicking too fast, this has only been since nov , but its tiring as its stressful having to stop creating , wait fifteen minutes till it all clicks back in , n it's daily, no matter what is created or time of day, no other webpages do this just the imvu ones You have made too many requests recently; please wait a few minutes and then try again more slowly" Someone pls help me.
Oh yay I have started crashing again Please fix this already!! I do not have a mobile device and I am sure I am not the only one like this. Please start fixing the client, I have been on here for years! Stop ignoring us! I am Having alot of problems also. Chat Load, creating, inbox, even web, i try to create its giving me error, its annoying and been dealing with this for about a week. Imvu Please Fix this. Here are some photos of it. I noticed that this bug also happened if I am in the shop or in one of my rooms and that I wear another outfit than the default outfit, it creates this bug I do not wear any ap item or unpublished products by default cause i noticed this create conflict.
I have been dealing with getting error messages and just the past 2 days i cant be in a room and shop at same time and even just in a room with everything else closed Something def needs to be done about this because its getting old i been dealing with this for about 3 weeks now and with no resolution I would like to be able to stay in a room or one of my clubs to dj and to hang with people or even go shopping and developing but i cant seem to enjoy any of it right now I know its not my computer 1.
Imvu is loading so slow and hard these days as well as random crashes.. Not just myself but everyone I chat with is having same issues loading into rooms. My IMVU, running slow. I've tried everything from uninstall to reinstall, clean cache. Nothing work. My problem at the "Shop" loading items too slow.
I've remove all items on my wishlist that didn't help. My "Room" load slow. Please HELP! Yeah im experiencing same issue right now. Avatars wont load causing you get booted off rooms. My inventory, outfits and shop Items won't load I ended up quitting last year because I couldn't fixed It. I came back today to the same thing. But I can't do any of that. I have this issue but with my chatroom one day my room kicked like me and one of my mods and ever sence no ones been able to go in there.
I know these have been common. Are there any solutions or ideas? It throws me, it takes too long to load, it goes badly. Logging in took some time today and it scared me for a bit. Because this has never happened before to me. It's annoying to clear cache every time when shop or chat is messed up.
Just wish, imvu would for once fix the problems and not ignore their users. I also have this problem, so now it's worse, because the client's home page doesn't even load it is frozen. Hey all: We did some maintenance recently?
Did it help any of you? I have not noticed major fixes yet. I run smoother but honestly that fix came from my isp resetting things and my malware over comi g alot of the indigenous tracking and adware from the imvu page and many of the catalog pages. Overall i updated as well. No crashes in over a week. I still have issues when I get a Not Connected alert.
Shannon I have seen some improvement went a few days with no issues but it is not going back to me crashing, and things not working right, I keep getting error messages, and when i crash it takes me like 20x to try and log back in to finally get in, i will get kicked out of my shared room and clubs and when i try and get back in will not let me, shope and create mode also have issues I clean my cache daily and i have uninstalled and reinstalled IMVU 3x just doesn't seem like anything works to fix the problem.
Yeah, i'm at my wits end with this issue. This problem started in October last year for a lot of us, and it has not been resolved.
I am getting sick of this I cant develop really because i keep getting errors and crashing out of create mode, or saying i don't have enough credits and i know i do. I feel we should be compensated for all that we have been put through and no badge squares to create either Something has got to be done, and really since Oct.? I was creating, but now cannot get back. Once I switch tabs on my laptop, I am not able to get back into imvu - if by chance that I do get back, then I'm just stuck where ever I happen to be.
I have this issue: If I log into the client, nothing is loading. I don't see my avatar, my avatar card, zero friends I see nothing. My internet is fine. I've tried to reboot my pc, nothing. I've tried to update imvu client, but I couldn't as it gave an error. So, I don't know what's going on I'm sick and tired of crashing and my imvu client loads slow cant change my outfits and they told me to update to a newer version and now its worse!!!!!! Please fix this asap! I updated my imvu client from to I had no issues with it on the day I installed it, but the next day I couldn't load into any of the rooms.
I know that I also got a crash code prior to the manual upgrade that I performed; I didn't want to continue working on a defunct client server Unfortunately I did not do a screenshot of that code, although I am aware of multiple users that were affected by it. May or may not be related to current issue. Update: I messaged several of you privately to speed things up. Note that I am off this weekend so if you don't hear from me I shall reply early next week.
The more information you have the better. Also, if you could give images of the errors you are encountering that would help, too. I will recount some of the things I have done but lol when I answer a question right after, I have issues again. I have noticed my imvu webpage index etc loads very slow time to time and even when it loads ok, when i open a catalog page not all the images load or it times out quite a bit. A wise person here suggested to click slooooooow, I have and that seems ok but still is hit and miss.
I try not to combine open tabs with imvu homepage and imvu next. THAT is a major issue. I will wake, drink my coffee, spin the wheel and like some feed items and when I go back into the client or a catalog page it bombs alot. I have cleared cache and updated to the latest versions as well.
Another issue I still see is the adware adtrackers or whatever that are linked to the imvu homepage and embedded in some dev pages, esp dev credits and older things like that, are fought hard by my malware softwares. At times they resist loading these pages. I have a commercial line with my isp and it is not overloaded. While not the tip top best, my laptop is graphics friendly and very capable and newish a few months. I toss alot of these things in because those were many of the buzz things sent to me by imvu and others.
Overall and long winded, I am ok for now BUT it is still not right long term. Shop icons take awfully long time to fully load, I have cleared my cache and uninstalled and reinstalled imvu, nothing seems to help with this problem. Didn't have this last week, so it's something new for me. Well I went just over 2 days of no issues My IMVU desktop client has been working properly yesterday but today started to crash constantly again, IMVU seems to like break things that works well with the intention to improve it, now we can't even play the game.
I have opened create mode while i was in my own chat room. Minute i saved my stuff in create it kicked me out of my chat room. So i reloaded my room an left create open for an hour w. Worked ok for a bit til i played my music list. Now everytime I pull open create tab to work on anything, I can't edit in create mode, or be in rooms while create is opened or any music list is playing.
I have issues with a few things in my inventory not loading on my avi that has always been on my avi. Also I am loading all inventory items ecteremly slowly. I have done everything possible to fix all these issues an I still keep having them issues. This been going on for about 3 days now. I cant create nothing because this issue just keeps gettin worse. Is anyone else dealing with IMVU mobile app exiting out of nowhere? Engineers should have a special IMVU chat room set up just for these issues.
If the chat stuff simply cannot be fixed, at least fix the music issues for the tracks from the music store. It's gotten so that, cleared caches or not, I'm having just about every track in a mix stop for seconds at a time Daren Tsui's background and prior successes were in the streaming music field I'm pretty tired of spending my money on stuff that doesn't work.
Almost ready to leave this frustration behind. I've contacted IMVU support and sadly we can see how useless it is to contact them at least without VIP since I get answers once a day and it is only for the ask questions that I already answered in the past conversations, I was not even able to visit IMVU Classic website at a moment, it was showing me "Too Many Requests" error, it is not about us or our computers, so what happened?
Their servers are failing us and now they try to make us seem like our computers are responsible of not having some essential things to run it, although they have been working just fine before they tried to change things, suddenly a lot of people cannot stay in chat and suddenly it's because of our computers, very hard to believe. This has been going on for over 15 days for me, no solution and only thing I see is stalling me from IMVU support, shame I was shopping then the app closed as I tried logging in after I logged in the screen froze when I changed my avatar to male it wouldn't freeze but I couldn't put products on and I couldn't change back and the rooms would lag so bad.
I have crashed during create mode twice, three times in a chatroom with only one other person, and twice when trying on outfits. My account is nearly 14 years old and contains a lot of stuff most of which is hidden and I clear cache every time I am done using the client. I have cleared cache four times today. Still crashing. I hope there's a new version in the pipe soon, since people have been having issues for months and it's getting worse. I think they've given up on the PC chat client Been here 14 years myself.
I have a feeling a lot of this will be laughed at or i'll be told I'm wrong here and there but again plz keep in mind most of the world isn't on a new machine that does this all for you. First thing to do there I'd recommend to make IMVU run better is restart your pc at least once a day , especially though if you have issues running the client IMVU chat program such as it being slow , laggy , cant join large rooms or it crashing a lot.
Basically your computer is like a file cabinet and the more stuff you use in those files the more disorganized it gets by bringing things to the top of the cabinet and stuffing them back in a disorganized manner. Because it's remembering what you used last so keeping those files on top in case you use them again during this days tasks. By restarting your computer sorts all that mess back into order. Its very easy to clean up your files and delete a lot of junk you don't use pics , music , vids or anything , which having more memory won't hurt.
The more memory is available to shift things around will prevent a lot of issues running the client. Another thing with deleting not only to save space but other issues is removing programs you no longer use. If you know how - go into your Control Panel and remove programs which you no longer use. If anyone needs more help with this you can search the google machine or even find tuturials on youtube. The youtube will show you exactly step by step how to pretty much do anything you can think of just type in your question.
WARNING - don't go removing programs without knowing exactly what it is or that can create more of a nightmare than you're ready to deal with.
The last set of tips is this - you have your regular routine , log on in the morning or whenever - goto youtube watch your favorite music video and check that account , goto fakebook and waste some of you're life away arguing non-sense. Go back to fakebook and play yoville or Farmville or some stupid game. Log into AOL and check your email and so on. Doing all that and running other programs in the background all at the same time multi-tasking while using the IMVU chat client can cause issues if you face performance problems.
So with that in mind all the programs you do have installed which you keep , start them up and go into the settings and disable them from starting when your PC is turned on. Again not having all this junk running in the background should make IMVU run a lot better if you have performance issues. Actually the last thing I can think of right now and I may come back to edit this so. This is advanced and if you don't know what you're doing don't do it without help of a computer person.
Is to format your pc and re-install just your basic programs so it runs at factory settings - of course those with new computers can do this with the push of a button.
Do computer maintenance if needed and uninstall programs that are no longer in use. Set all programs to not run on start up. Repeat - a fresh restart before you run IMVU should help a lot. I do have something to add, I believe this may even help Zara out. Once thing to also remember is on older machines, the more information you start to gather up, the more you need to get that info defragmented.
Even high-end machines benefit from a proper defragment session. Now, here is the issue. For many years I have tried and used many different types of software to do so. The one I settled on was called Auslogics Dick Defrag. It's always been free and does the job very fast. I found an issue with that though as all it actually does, much like most other free defragmenters out there, is it only defragments the files. Sure, for the most part that's what you want Well, sadly that is wrong when it comes to an aging machine.
Where the files are placed can drastically reduce performance. Once a lot of information is stored on the front of your disk drive, you have created a limited space to store quick information. Temporary files and similar are often stored on the front of the disk, due to that is the quickest part of the disk drive. I found one solution. I am sure there are others out there, but this one works wonderfully and is FREE with no ad's showing on it all the time like Auslogics does now. Now before you go off googling this to download, be careful.
The name MyDefrag is very common and will present you with a lot of fishy sites, so you need to be careful what you click here. I hope this won't break any rules we have here, but I will share a direct link to Major Geeks who has a copy of the program. Well, if you decide to try this out, know it has options. It comes with a few different scripts to defragment in different ways.
It does your system disk, as well as secondary disks. It's simple. Here is what MyDefrag looks like once you open it To give you an idea of what your drive looks like, your first step is to select an option on the left, and then what drive at the bottom.
So select "Analyze only," and then your main drive.
